Google AdSense – Money making machine

Make money with Google AdSense – the versatile ad serving program

With the advent of internet and its huge commercial potential, e-commerce or online business has become a very familiar term in our day-to-day life. Everyday, hundreds and thousands of people are being introduced in the amazing world of the internet. Stunned by the rudimentary features, a new user soon discovers the enormous potential of internet in business and commerce. This phenomenon has paved the way for online businesses to flourish at an increasing tempo. One of the most prominent parts of the online business is the online advertising industries. Already a multi-billion dollar industry, online advertisement is still thriving further and rolling more moneys everyday. There are hundreds and thousands of companies that are dedicated to sponsor ads and commercials in popular websites. But the internet giant Google has possibly surpassed everyone in what we call business promotion strategy through advertisements. Today Google AdSense and AdWords are not entirely Greek to us. If you have used internet even for a very brief time, you definitely encountered Google AdSense and the AdSense websites. How? Well, if you ever came across ads in the different websites/blogs that read ‘Ads by Google’ in its corner – you came across Google AdSense!

Google AdSense is a popular advertisement publishing service. Tracing back the history, the program existed in the form of a WordNet variation with a small search engine company named Oingo as early as 1998. But in 2003, Google launched an upgraded and more versatile version of the program as it acquired Applied Semantics (changed name of Oingo) and named it Google AdSense.

AdSense is a program that mostly works with another Google’s ad related program called Google AdWords. Let us now try to understand how these programs work.

Companies, offices, small business or large corporate entities who desire to have their ads and commercials published in the websites, sign-up with Google AdWords and agree to pay Google a sum basing on the clicking or appearance rate of their ads in the websites. You or your company on the other hand, sign-up with Google AdSense program and agree to host the ads in your websites. A third person (a visitor) landing at your website spends some time and for any reason clicks the ads Google served and your site sponsored. Ad provider at this time pays on the agreed rate to Google which in turn is shared by Google with you – the ad host. This mechanism although seems very simple, in effect it works in a complex and confidential process. Google reserves the right as regards to the target websites (usually the good ones) and you as a host do not have control over what ads your site(s) would display. Google neither tells you how much of the revenue earned from the ad provider is shared with you (predictably a high percentage).

AdSense is a great way to earn money. Ease of making your own website or blog together with the ability to have a FREE AdSense account makes the job half done. If you sign-up with AdSense and start publishing ads in your AdSense websites, you shall soon start earning money provided there is a continued traffic to your site. However, to make AdSense pour big money in your wallet, you need to make your web pages or blogs very interesting where internet surfers would spend time and click ad links. This being the bottom line, there are many other tips and tricks at Google AdSense website and different AdSense related forums/blogs/websites. Follow these steps and you may soon start earning those ‘six figure incomes’ many websites promise with fake commitments.
